Black Woman-Owned Businesses that Aid in Relaxation & Spirituality Practices - Pt. 1

Grounding practices have helped me get through a lot this year. The best part of the pandemic is that I have been allowed to sit with myself and discover new companies that aid in my spiritual journey. Although, outside is starting to open up, having a grounding practice is something that will always serve as a way to recalibrate at the end of a busy day/and week.

Below are some black women-owned companies that specialize in providing items for your spiritual practices:

1. Blue Sage Eco Boutique

Price Range: $6.40 - $40.00 (Subscriptions and Bundled Purchases Available)

"Sage, Candles and Incense Oh My". Established in 2013, this business was founded by a Tampa, FL native. The company's goal is to promote eco-friendly self-care items to customers, and on that note they deliver! Blue Sage's catalog includes traditional spirituality items such as candles, sage, and crystals. This is a great place to shop if you are new to spirituality practices or have been doing the work and would like to build your personal inventory with these staples.

2. Pretty High Co.

Price Range: $20.00 - $50.00

Recently, this company piqued my interest, as I can strongly appreciate the charm Pretty High Co. brings as a one-stop-shop for anyone looking to incorporate more relaxation into their routine, by adding CBD. Products range in price and the creativity behind this brand is unmatched! Typically, CBD has been marketed to consumers in the form of bath soaks and concentrates, but customers will be surprised to find more culturally options items such as CBD Lemon Pepper and Cajun Seasonings (to name a few).

3. Quartz and Rainbows

Price Range: $8.00 - $150.00

Consistency is key! I have been a follower of this brand for some time and love the simplicity it brings. The founder has been very candid about entrepreneurship, and how spirituality played a part in her journey. The company's mantra is to "Manifest That Shit" and products serve in customer's ability to do so. Whether searching for cute accessories like a "Laughing Buddha Necklace," or the free downloadable ebooks, this company delivers every time!

P.S. The owner is also not stingy with the details for aspiring business owners. For anyone looking to start their own spirituality business the company's product catalog includes a "vendors list".

4. Rituals + Ceremony

Price Range: $28.00 - $160.00

Featured in Black-Owned Brooklyn this company is one to keep an eye on. The shop serves as an affirming space for people looking to build their spiritual practice. The owner prides herself on creating a space for people to grow their spirituality while also developing self-love and self-care practices. Although the "home goods and lifestyle store," carries typical items such as sage and incense holders, patrons will also find some other cool things like ceramic mugs and vases that complement virtually any aesthetic.

5. Chakra Zulu

Starting at $4.00

I really love what this Tampa, FL company has to offer. Aside from the catchy play on words, there is plenty to choose from, whether starting as a novice or entering in as an expert. There are also some unexpected goodies offered that you won't find with some of the other companies on this list. The shop also includes the carefully curated "Zodiac Sets" which provide crystals for each zodiac sign, "Singing Bowls" for healing meditation, and aromatherapy for those looking to create a zen type of vibe from the comfort of their home.

6. Freedom Apothecary

Price Range: $25.00 - $110.00

This Philadelphia, PA storefront feels like a self-care superstore! Just by looking at their website, you will see what I am talking about. They offer a BROAD range of items that meet the needs of women, men, and children from skin and hair care systems, books, and CBD products to name a few. This is truly a business that puts personal wellness first, and is inclusive of everyone!

In these challenging times, having a toolbox of healing modalities that can help keep you grounded and protected is key. While you are filling your mind, body, and spirit with all this goodness, you are also helping to support Black female entrepreneurs which is a win-win situation.

Check out these amazing businesses, and show them some love by leaving a review on your favorite purchases.
